June Wrap Up and July TBR

Hey all, Dani here.

Wow. We are halfway through the year now. That’s crazy. Anyway, here we are with my wrap up for the month of June and also my TBR list for the month of July. It was a pretty good month for me, helped by my trip to BookExpo and BookCon. There are just so many books that I want to read right now.

I’ll start with my book haul for the month. As a note, I’m not including any of the books I picked up in New York, since those were already discussed in my BEA/BookCon Wrap Up post. So really, because of everything I brought home from New York, I was able to cut back quite a bit on book purchases this month, but I still had a few books I had to have.

I have heard so many great things about When Dimple Met Rishi so I hope to read it soon. Obviously Tash Hearts Tolstoy was on my most anticipated list, and the premise of One of Us is Lying was so intriguing that I needed to get it. Of course, I also had to buy a copy of Infomocracy since I have an ARC of the sequel from BEA. Finally, I’ve had my eye on The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love for quite some time as it sounds like a cute read. Then there are the books that I ordered on June 28th. Since I doubted they would arrive in time for me to add them to my haul photo, I figured I would add them in now. I really can’t wait to read them.

Next up is my wrap up. Like usual, if I have written up a review for the book, I’ll be sure to link back to it in case you want to know more. I actually had a pretty good reading month, so I’m proud of myself for that. Then there’s the fact that I did better with GLBT Book Month this year than I did last year. If I remember correctly, last year I only managed one post each week. This year I pretty much stuck to two book reviews each week, most of which were LGBTQIA+ books, so that’s awesome. Anyway, here’s my list of books read in June:

Night Night, Groot by Brendan Deenan (5 stars)

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera (5 stars – review coming July 28th)

Perfect Ten by L Philips (3 stars)

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (4 stars)

Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire (4 stars)

All Rights Reserved by Gregory Scott Katsoulis (5 stars – review coming August 4th)

No Holding Back by Kate Evangelista (4 stars)

The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter by Theodora Goss (4 stars)

Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee (4 stars)

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus (5 stars)

Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts (4.5 stars)

Finally we have my TBR for the month of July, and I believe a majority of my reads for the month are ARCs and e-galleys. But, who knows, if they turn out to be quick reads, maybe I’ll be able to include some reads just for my general pleasure…like Ash and Quill by Rachel Caine, or maybe one of the books from my June book haul.

Well, I think that’s all for now. How many books did you read in June? Anything you’d recommend? I’m always on the lookout for more books to read. Let me know in the comments what book(s) you’re looking forward to reading in July. Thanks everyone!
