Hey all, Dani here.
So I’m back with yet another TBR purge post. There are so many of us doing these right now, and I have to say that each time I’m able to clear out some of my list I feel a bit more organized and ready to tackle my to-read list, so that’s great.
Okay, you probably already know this by now, but for those of you who are new to the blog, I saw a number of other people posting Down the Rabbit Hole TBR purge posts, and it challenged readers to look at 5 (or 10 if feeling adventurous) books on their TBRs and then decide which to keep and which to toss out. Knowing that my TBR was over 800 books, only looking at 5 or 10 with each post would mean me taking forever to purge through my whole list. So I went the extreme route and decided to look at 30 books each time.
This is my 15th TBR purge post, and I have calculated that it will take me 28 posts to finish my to-read list. To get all the posts in my the end of 2017, I decided to move these posts to the weekend and post one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
I think that’s all for my informative speech. Let’s jump into today’s list of 30 books.
Wicked by Jennifer L Armentrout. I am still really interested in this one, so it’s a definite keep.
Illusive by Emily Lloyd-Jones. I have heard good things about this one, and I do tend to like superpower and superhero type reads, so keep.
Aberrant by Ruth Silver, Sygillis of Metatron by Ren Garcia, Elfhunter by C.S. Marks, and Mother’s Curse by Thaddeus Nowak. These are all signed books that I picked up at Chicago Comic Con a few years ago. Obviously I’m going to read them at some point.
Half-Off Ragnarok, The Winter Long, Pocket Apocalypse, Chaos Choreography, Magic for Nothing, Tricks for Free, A Red-Rose Chain, Once Broken Faith, The Brightest Fell, Night and Silence, and The Unkindest Tide by Seanan McGuire. Some of these are part of her October Daye series and some are from her Incryptid series. I plan to read them all, but considering that I haven’t even started either series, having books 4-13 in either series doesn’t make sense right now.
Karma Girl, Hot Mama, Jinx, Nightingale, and Spider’s Trap by Jennifer Estep. I’m keeping Karma Girl on my list because it is the first book in a series. Other than that, I can say goodbye until I’m ready to pick them up in a series read-through.
Only the Good Die Young, Another One Bites the Dust, and Every Breath You Take by Chris Marie Green. These sounded interesting when I added them to my to-read list, but I’m just not feeling like I want to read them at this point in time.
Black Ice by Susan Krinard. The first book in this series was okay but not amazing. I don’t see myself picking this one up.
The Red Plague Affair, The Ripper Affair, and The Damnation Affair by Lilith Saintcrow. This series still sounds interesting and I still plan on reading them all. However, I still need to read the first one, so it is still on my list and these ones can go for now.
Blood in Snow by Robert Evert. This is an Ohio author and I really enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy. I just need to read this one and I can mark it as a completed series read.
Okay, not bad this time around. I’m keeping 8/30 on the list. I am so glad this TBR purge is working, though it is taking a lot of work. I never should have let my list get so out-of-control. For anyone else also working on a TBR purge, keep up the great work. I know how difficult it can be to weed out the list, especially when there are so many good books out there begging to be read. If only we could read all day every day.
