Hey all, Dani here.
It is almost time for one of my favorite readathons again. The next round of Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon will be taking place this weekend. You can find your exact start time by using this link here. For me, the readathon will begin at 8:00am on Saturday, April 28th and it will end at 7:59 am on Sunday, April 29th.
Thankfully, since this is one of my favorite readathons, I have convinced my fiance to give me a reading day instead of our normally scheduled Dungeons & Dragons.
This naturally means that I need to figure out what I’m going to read, and here is where I would like the help of all you lovely people. I have a few different options for what to read, and I can’t decide which one I’d rather do right now, so I’m going to share the options with you and then you can vote at the end of this post. The poll will close at midnight Friday, April 27th, so when I wake up on Saturday morning, I’ll be able to see the results and can just start reading.
All right, let’s just go over the options.
Option #1: Animorphs series read
Okay, this picture contains literally the entire series from my childhood (mostly because there is another row of books behind the front row. I’ve been talking about wanting to read through the series again, because this was one of my major childhood obsessions, and I want to see how the books hold up after all these years. If this is the option chosen, I want to see how many of them I can read in the 24 Hours. Since they are pretty much about 120 pages or so each, I’m thinking I can make it through a good portion of the 63 books of the series–this includes the specials because the main series is just 54 books.
Option #2: Iron Druid Chronicles series read
I read the first few of these rather quickly, and then it got to the point where they were coming out in hardcover for a year before finally coming to paperback. And I love that it means Kevin Hearne is becoming more successful, but as a fan that has been with him since the early paperback days, and who has to have matching sets on my bookshelves, this success also feels like I’m being punished for being a fan because then I have to wait longer. Anyway, I want to reread the first few so that I can continue on with the series, especially since the final book just released in hardcover. Plus these books are hilarious and include a lot of folklore and mythology.
Option #3: Finish April TBR
These are the books from my April TBR that I still haven’t read. They all sound really interesting, and this would probably be a good time to try and read them so I can be very productive with this month’s TBR. Plus, I still have this feeling that I should just sit down and read Children of Blood and Bone without interruption, so a readathon would be a good choice. And I just received my copy of Ace of Shades in the mail, so it really is a good time to pick it up.
All right, so there you have it…the three options I am giving you lovely readers. Now vote and help me figure out which books to read this weekend. My Dewey’s TBR is in your hands.
I do believe that is all for today. I will be back soon with more bookish content.
