Hey all, Dani here.
Well another week has come and gone. I have to say that I am still feeling pretty tired. We have had so much to do lately, and it was made more of a hectic and full schedule because one of our buddies is home for two weeks from the Marines and we have all missed seeing him, so we are trying to fill this time with all of the board game nights and D&D sessions that we have missed with him over the past several months.
So…I thought that I was going to fall even more behind on my reading and I made the decision to try and bump up my progress with some manga reads. And then I ended up having to do a bunch of running with my mom and such, and I managed to get through a decent chunk of a couple novels as well. It was an unexpected bit of awesome reading.
Oh, and can I say that I really need to get started on my May TBR that my fiance gave me? Yeah, I haven’t even started on them yet…you know, because of my co-worker talking to me about the Outlander series.
At least I can say that I’m starting to get better at posting at bit more again. Right now I’m pretty much trying to do a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. But I have so many backlogged posts that if I can manage to get them typed up, you all will probably see some Tuesday or Thursday posts as well.
I’ve told myself before that I would not allow myself to get this behind on posts again, and clearly I have failed at that promise to myself. All I can promise now is that I am trying to be better about getting my posts up.
Anyway, let’s just get into the actual substance of this post: what I’ve read in the last week, what I’m currently reading, and what I’m hoping to read soon.
In the past week I managed to read The Ancient Magus’ Bride Volumes 3 and 4 and One Punch Man Volume 4. I also read Ship It! by Britta Lundin and Final Draft by Riley Redgate. So it was a very productive week of reading for me, and it is about time. I have been feeling pretty down about my reading progress these past few weeks.
My current reads are Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Galbadon (still–I mean, it is a rather large book), and The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen, because it is time to make progress on my TBR. If I’m going to be honest, I don’t know that I’ll finish Galbadon’s book this month. When I have the time to just sit around and read, I can actually get through up to a couple hundred pages of it, but I don’t know how much reading time I’ll actually be able to sneak into my schedule. And obviously my TBR should take priority. So depending on my time availability, I might have a super awesome wrap up for the month.
What I’m hoping to read next…well, I should read another book or two from the TBR my fiance gave me, so…I guess I will probably try and read Between Two Thorns by Emma Newman. But then again, I might pick up Sparks of Light because that should be a decently quick read. Ooh…that would be a decent amount of time travel reads for the month. Totally worth it. I like well done time travel books.
All right, well I do believe that is all for today. Let me know if you have recently read or are currently reading any good books. Every bookworm/book blogger could always use more additions to the never-ending TBR pile, right?
