Hey, Damian Trypp here.
Ran Uruma can’t wait to grow up and become a sorceress like her mother, so with the help of a magical pair of sneakers, she transforms into an adult and sets off! Her father and older brother Jin try to keep her home safe, but Ran is determined to advance her powers and have adventures of her own!
Even though Ran looks like an adult during her transformation, she doesn’t really know what perils the outside world holds. When she meets rich playboy Otaro Mikado, does she gain a friend or a foe?
This manga comes off as more of a shojo to me, with the flowing art and sparkles everywhere. However it is very whimsical and funny to read. I am very interested in seeing how Ran will fair learning to use her magical abilities and hopefully not get herself into too much trouble, but that may be the biggest bit of fun in the series so I will continue to keep checking this one out from time to time. Fans of XXXHolic or similar manga might be interested in this one,
Hey all, Dani here.
I didn’t want to write up my own full review post for this one, so I figured I would just pop in here at the end of Damian’s post. I ended up giving this manga volume a 3 star rating. The artwork was really nice, and the concept was intriguing to me, but in this volume I didn’t feel like I really connected with the story or the characters all that much. It felt a little disjointed to me and I felt like the story jumped around too much for me to fully grasp what was supposed to be going on. Of course, if Damian continues with the series, then I’ll likely pick up the next volume as well. Perhaps this is one of those series where it takes a couple installments to really get into the story.
