Manga Review: Fairy Tail, Volume 9

Hey all, Dani here.

Work was interesting today. It seemed like there was a lot less conversation amongst the co-workers, probably because we were all wearing masks, and it was a struggle to stay cool, stay hydrated, and just to keep our breathing normal. I guess that’s what happens when you’re working in a factory and are required to wear masks. Also, a couple of the jobs I was on ended up reigniting some of the pain in my hands and wrists even more than normal, so I am very glad that the day is over.

Anyway, it is time for Manga Monday once again, and this time I’m bringing you a review of a recent read, so that’s pretty cool. I’ll go ahead and apologize if the post ends up shorter than normal; it hurts to type right now. Let’s get started.

My Thoughts

Rating: 5 stars

I read this as part of Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon April 2020, so you know, just a week ago. Despite being a huge fan of Fairy Tail, most of my consumption of the story has been through the anime, so it’s been really cool to start collecting the manga and enjoying the story all over again.

This volume is all about Lucy and about Loke. We learn a lot in this one about both of these characters, and it leads to some interesting developments. I enjoy Loke, even more so after learning who he really is. It’s pretty great.

Honestly, this story pulled on my heartstrings big time. I love Fairy Tail’s ability to give you some serious action sequences right alongside funny moments and heart-wrenching ones.
